The Opportunity
We are looking for either an accomplished Designated Person for Regulatory Compliance to join MPMF as part of our financial services business in Dublin. The role may suit also an experienced compliance officer currently working within the funds or investment sector who wishes to make the next step in their career up to Designated Person / Head of Compliance.

This role reports to the CEO of MPMF with an additional direct reporting line to the Board of MPMF. There will also be ongoing engagement with the Global Maples Group Compliance function. The successful candidate will manage the Compliance Department of MPMF and will have three direct reports to manage on a daily basis. The successful candidate will manage MPMF's relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland and other EU Regulators as required. The successful candidate will be part of a small senior executive management team at MPMF and is expected to lead by example, provide guidance to the MPMF team and communicate effectively at a senior level.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that MPMF is at all times duly authorised to carry out its business in accordance with the provisions of the rules of the relevant regulator;
- Ensuring the compliance manual and all related policies and procedures continue to meet the requirements of the regulator and Group compliance requirements;
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of controls and the application of rules, regulations and the company’s compliance policies and procedures;
- Responsibility for ensuring that all regulatory filings are completed on time and liaising with relevant regulators as and when required;
- Engaging with third party service providers to ensure outsourced activities are in compliance with regulations;
- Coordinating the delivery of reporting to the Board of Directors and internal committees as required;
- Providing regulatory and group compliance training to all employees ensuring they are aware of the content of the compliance manual, their personal compliance obligations, and other relevant procedures;
- Reporting to the CEO and MPMF board on regulatory and industry compliance developments, summary of internal compliance queries, and summary of training position on a quarterly basis.
Requirements:
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:
- Degree Qualified with a strong academic background;
- At least 2-3 years ’ experience within an industry equivalent compliance function;
- Candidates with LCOI qualification will have an advantage;
- Experience working with a financial regulator highly advantageous;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications as well as the ability to use initiative and work well under pressure to meet deadlines;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Fitness and Probity:
This role is ‘Controlled Function’ as defined by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 201.
The holder of the position must comply with Fitness and Probity Standards (Code issued under Section 50 of the Central Bank Reform Act 2010).
