The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Vice President to join our team as part of our financial services business in Grand Cayman. Its tactical responsibilities feed one larger objective: the provision of regulatory services to our clients, primarily in AIFMD, FATCA, and CRS, CbCR and Economic Substance related services.

 

The Cayman Islands is home to our global headquarters and where the Maples Group first established operations in the 1960s. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest employers in Cayman, where colleagues from all over the world collaborate to deliver best-in-class solutions to clients worldwide. As part of our Cayman team you will:

 

  • management of a small team of staff, review and oversight over the provision of services, and being the main point of contact for a portfolio of AIFMD depositary lite, FATCA and CRS, CbCR and Economic Substance clients;;
  • responsible for review and approval of depositary lite files and classification of account holders under FATCA and CRS, as well as review, preparation and submission of FATCA, CRS, CbCR and Economic Substance notifications and annual filings;
  • staff management and development, liaison with clients, investment managers, colleagues and other third parties in various international jurisdictions.

 

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

 

  • The successful candidate will be a university graduate, with an accounting or finance designation, an excellent academic background, and at least eight years’ relevant experience in fund administration, audit or relevant regulatory services in the investment funds industry. A background in investment management related services in the may be considered;
  • The candidate must also have a good understanding of FATCA, CRS, CbCR, Economic Substance and AIFMD regulatory requirements;
  • Experience in working with account holder due diligence and reporting requirements for reporting financial institutions under FATCA and CRS and fund administration is preferred;
  • Prior management of staff is required;
  • The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications, with advanced Excel and data management skills;
  • In addition, he/she will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to read and interpret documentation in line with specific requirements;
  • He/she will have the ability to use initiative, be self motivated and able to work independently, and work well under pressure to complete high volumes of work under tight deadlines;
  • This post requires a high degree of attention to detail, accuracy and efficiency, ability to multi-task and excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills;
  • In addition, the successful candidate will be able to manage team workflows, monitor and manage key performance indicators to ensure department targets are met and be able to demonstrate excellent staff management skills.
