About the Role

Reporting through to the Group's CFO with dual reporting lines to the Group COO and managing a large team, you will be responsible for managing core areas of the office and finance transactional operations.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing and implementing the Client Engagement Lifecycle (CEL) Program ensuring successful delivery of large scale core financial systems transformation including client onboarding, billings and collections
  • Supporting and championing the business and teams through technological change which will involve the implementation of new tools, processes and work practices
  • Oversight of the group's cash receipting function ensuring all incoming receipts are allocated in a timely manner, and any unallocated amounts are thoroughly investigated
  • Oversight of the group's cash collections team ensuring that all invoices are actively chased, and sufficient investigations are done of funds on account
  • Oversight of the accounts payable team, ensuring that suppliers are paid on time and accurately
  • Oversight of the group's e-billing function including the management of templates, uploading of invoices and reconciliations to vendor platforms
  • Oversight of centralised Audit Confirmation processing, and WIP management
  • Managing the operational and commercial relationship with all shared services customers and external service providers
  • Provide senior leadership support to all relevant areas for the Shared Services Group as well as ensuring all functional areas are appropriately resourced and SLAs are adhered to
  • Ensuring streamlined processes minimising the risk of items being overlooked as tasks flow between distinct teams
  • Pro-actively seeking on-going improvements and efficiencies in all activities to ensure high levels of service within a culture of cost-consciousness
  • Assist in any other business support initiatives as directed by the CFO and executive leadership team
  • Active participation in Leeds Management Committee and general office management

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • In depth knowledge of best practice in Shared Services
  • Accounting qualified (advantageous though not essential) with extensive experience in a senior shared services role within a dynamic and global organisation
  • Proven ability to connect, manage and implement strategic business objectives to operational targets through robust processes across a diverse team 
  • In-depth understanding of best practice processes and continuous improvement fostered through internal and external networks
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including experience of engaging with and gaining buy-in from board level stakeholders and the broader business base
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional leadership skills and a flexible style, with the ability to develop and communicate objectives, inspire and motivate a diverse team and maintain alignment with the business strategy
  • Strong business acumen, including industry and domain-specific knowledge of the organisation and its business units
  • Proven ability to develop and performance manage large teams virtually and in person
  • High levels of emotional intelligence and an ability to create and foster a high achieving, positive culture in a hybrid working environment
  • Excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills
